I want to give this four stars. I really do. But there's something missing.

I felt like if I'd have read the book a year or two ago then I'd have loved it completely. But at this age, it was just enjoyable.

The paranormal twist was... Surprising, but I feel like nowadays I just can't read a book about people killing each other without some supernatural force helping out. It's like it's become taboo - like suddenly a human murderer is unheard of.

It was kinda funny. But also a little cringey. John's blatant obliviousness to sexual or even romantic thoughts is... It's like he's too innocent. Yeah he's a sociopath but I'm sure he can still pitch a tent.

And on that note, I stick with three stars.
